Kick off the fall season of history is, as a racing very strong storm across the Pacific Ocean and heads in British Columbia Colombia.
But same Center storm brings a pipeline to our North, the storm has profound effects that arrive in the Northwest Pacific.
These effects include regular autumn storm calling cards: rain, gusty winds and snow in the mountains.
For the greater Puget Sound, and other areas of the Interior, this storm is not the remedy to be too large, but for the coast, is another story where incredible surfing and winds could lead to coastal flooding.
Current warnings:
- Coastal Flood Watch and view high Coast surf.
- High for the South coast of gusts as high as 50 to 60 mph in headlands beach wind warning
- Watch Skokomish River flood risk of minor flooding
- Watch for areas of high altitude mountains of 4 to 6 inches of snow over 4,000 feet potential winter storms, with higher accumulations over 6,000 pieds.Watch does not include the Snoqualmie or col Stevens.
Overview
A very strong storm with strong hurricane (inches of mercury, or 964 milibars 28.47) equal pressure readings is slowly progressing toward the north end of Vancouver Island.
Cold front associated with the storm will move to the night of Saturday to Sunday at the beginning, and then passes, cone-shaped steady rain showers.
The center of the storm is expected to reach the northern tip of the island of Vancouver, Saturday morning, then stall it until Sunday evening, slowly weakening and Southeast of landslide in southern British Columbia Colombia to the lundi.La autour storm is Tuesday at the beginning.
Say break it by each type of event.
Rain
Stable rain will be from now through noon on Sunday, when the rain will change frequent showers for the rest of the day de.Les low-lying inland could see 0.5 to 0.75 cm of rain while the mountains could see 1 to 3 inches of rain by Sunday evening.
However, the good news is that the storm is moving quite rapidly and snow levels will be low enough in the mountains is awaiting us any real mountain flooding problems except for the Skokomish River, which could reach up to flood stage.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood of Skokomish, Adviser to the potential watch of perhaps some flooding mineures.Tous another River looks to it will manage the water very well.
Wind
While this storm is very strong in its core - measured buoy 964 millibars or 28.47 inches of mercury, central pressure prediction models are coming into alignment storm Centre will be well to our North to harmonize here winds very forts.Néanmoins, we will have a prolonged period of breezy winds level warning limits while Sunday that Monday.
The wind will be kicked when the front passes Sunday morning, but probably will remain approximately 30-35 mph for peak gusts in the city, perhaps a few gusts 40-45 mph North and a chance to stronger 40-45 mph coast - all those who are probably not enough wind warnings or notices, but the end North may be attentive to the minimum notice wind low-level standard.
Two exceptions - the South coast of Washington is a warning of wind high headlands beach can get higher gusts in this scenario, and they have the potential for 50 to 60 mph gusts. But the rest of the coast is not in any wind advisory.
But once these winds pick up, they are here to stay for a while as the storm, stalls and then slowly galleries East by South Colombia BritanniqueMême if the storm is strong and closer to our region, it will be weakened as it the fait.Mais this will be enough to keep the South made allant.En breeze, Monday may finally windy inside of Puget Sound as the center of the storm reached its point agenda more proche.Nous will of course keep an eye on it as if the storm takes enough together, we can see a few gusts at 40-45 mph in Seattle, but at this stage, it is less than that.
Wind would not die until at least Monday evening - perhaps even Tuesday morning.
High coastal flood surf
This is probably the greatest danger of this tempête.Comme I mentioned earlier, this is a storm centre very deep low pressure and it is far enough maintain our winds at Bay, this storm will churn with some very heavy swell and wind-whipped waves of their, Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon we seek to coastal waves of 30-35 feet.
It is large enough for coastal flooding are a concern, especially on the Central Coast tide haute.ainsi, coastal flood watch is in vigueur.Marée high is approximately 10.7 feet at 2 a.m. Sunday in Aberdeen and a lower foot 9.1 tide will occur around 3: 30 p.m. Monday.
Snow Mountain
This storm will be the first snow season, great mountain and a winter storm watch is now in effect for the montagnes.Que disturbing sounds and it is important, but the criteria is lower for a winter storm for the first Watch/warning storm season so willing people who is not treated with snow in several months.
But indications are that snow levels remain approximately 5,000 feet Sunday, and then move only at about 4000 feet Sunday evening and Monday - above the Snoqualmie Pass level and right around neck Stevens.donc 2 could see a bit of snow (not much to paste) but - 90 can be bare and wet - wet only really well.
Where it will be snow are highest places, such as Hurricane, drive Ridge drive to paradise and Sunrise in Mount Rainier national park and Mount Baker road could receive 6 inches of snow Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon.
Temperatures
Cool fall will be in the air with highs in the low-mid-fifties, Sunday and Monday.
Progressive soothing
We will taper to the showers and sunbreaks Tuesday, although it will remain chilly with highs struggle to get to the 50 or so low two jours.Nous thanks always for a dry weather Wednesday, but more rain expected thereafter.
